What Mums Really Want for Mother’s Day

Mother’s Day is next Sunday 11th March, so I have been dreaming up a little wish list! As a mama myself, I think I am well placed to know what mums really want for Mother’s Day, and it’s not last-minute flowers from the garage. #sorrynotsorry

I have my eyes on a few beautiful, personal, unique Mother’s Day gifts from some fellow independent makers that tick all the boxes. But first, let me say that buying a Mother’s Day gift is not always needed. Something hand made by my kids is always welcome. Unless it’s made from a huge cardboard box that takes up loads of space... I’m thinking a lovely card where they can write out a message in comedy spelling, which is easily stored for years to come.

But of course, I wouldn’t turn my nose up something pretty. Here is my own unique Mother’s Day wish list. I hope my husband sees it and takes note!

A Personalised Present

This stunning vintage teacup and saucer from Vintage Candy comes with the cutest personalised teaspoon. This is particularly apt for me as we never have enough teaspoons, I blame the kids’ yoghurt obsession.

Frances from Vintage Candy hand stamps vintage cutlery so it’s something completely unique to you, and the gifts come in hand-decorated gift boxes to boot.

Luxury Handcrafted Chocolate
If you’re going to have chocolate, you should have the best, right? My favourite is from Creighton’s Chocolaterie, a mother and daughter team, who specialise in irresistible flavours you won’t find in just any old supermarket.
Isn’t the packaging incredible? It’s almost too good to eat. Almost. The chocolate is all developed and hand-produced in small batches by an all-girl team in Leighton Buzzard.
A Photo Gift
Our children grow up so quickly, so I really need to take my own advice and make a print for
myself! Did you know you can personalised your print with filters, mounts and your choice of
caption, as well as the large word and the photos themselves. If you’re a mum or a mama,
instead of a mummy, you can have the word your kids call you.

A Concrete Planter
I love plants and these handmade concrete hanging planters from Bells and Whistles Makes
are so pretty. Wouldn’t it make a unique Mother’s Day gift?
Save I’d be delighted to receive any of these gifts next week, but the one thing I really want this Mother’s Day? A lie in. I’m not alone, am I? And then being woken at about 10 o’clock with a hot cup of tea (preferably served in the cupabove!) and some cuddles. Now that really would make this Mother’s Day!SaveSaveSaveSaveSaveSaveSaveSave
